The Digital Twin: Time to Start Using your Data to Your Advantage

Over the last several years, the emerging technology of digital twining has gained traction in the building facility space.  Digital twins are a middleware software that stands as a real-time replica of building. Emerging digital twin technology has proven effective in streamlining the handover of buildings from new construction to operations.  As the data generated in the operations grow exponentially, the digital twin is the platform to aggregate, analyze and assimilate the disparate data sources into a relevant framework for building operators. The complexity of hospital operations must be simplified into a single pane of glass for all stakeholders and protect the health of building. Owners have integrated controls, work order systems, and even IoT sensors, but true value of this data comes from the holistic integration of these into one building model. Node graph connections of these competing data silos has the power to generate smart workflows between 2D, and cloud-based data. The best way view data is with smart informative visualizations, including live data and heat maps utilizing the engineering BIM are critical to solving issues, and build transparency between hierarchy to support funding. Digital Twins are bridging the gap between outdated operations, and automated building operations.
